These promises, embedded in the Old Testament, are evidence that God loves us. Put together these prophecies make up a path, a Path to Bethlehem.ExcerptI want to take you on a journey, a very special trip to a very special place.

It is an intersection of sorts, a place where two paths intersect, crossing each other temporarily. Think of it as a crossroads, two paths connected by a common point. Only this intersection is one like no intersection you’ve seen before. It isn’t made of asphalt or cement. It isn’t filled with traffic lights, cars, horns blaring and people waiting to hurry on to unknown destinations. It’s a much different and bigger intersection. In fact, you might think of it as THE INTERSECTION, for the two paths that converge involve both God and man.

It is a divine/human intersection. Our trip takes us to a place where God crosses paths with humanity... where God and His purposes intersect with man. Actually, it is more of an intervention than an intersection, for God pierces human history and inserts Himself into the world of humanity. It is the place where God connects with us...In order to begin our journey, we must first travel back a long way in time. We must travel down the dusty corridors of history to a place and time long ago before we can reach our final destination. Just like any trip, our departure and destination are two different places, to get to our destination we must begin at another location.

We must begin at the beginning. Our journey doesn’t begin in Bethlehem, it ends there. It begins at a place and time much earlier than the birth of Jesus Christ in a manger stall in Bethlehem...
